Who we are

Habitat is a design agency. This policy covers habitat.cc: what the site collects when you visit it or write to us, why, and what you can do about it.

What you send us

The contact form, the free audit form and the newsletter form ask for what they need to answer you: your name, email, company, website and message, depending on the form. Submissions go straight to our team’s internal Slack workspace, and we use them only to reply, to run the audit you asked for, or to send the newsletter you subscribed to.

We don’t sell this information or share it for anyone else’s marketing.

Analytics and cookies

When you first visit, a banner asks whether we may use cookies. Nothing is stored in your browser until you answer.

If you allow them, we use PostHog and Google Analytics to understand how the site is used: which pages people read, where they came from, which buttons they click. PostHog may also record anonymised sessions of how the page was used; text you type into fields is masked. These tools set their own cookies (PostHog’s ph_*, Google’s _ga and _ga_*).

If you decline, neither tool sets cookies. We still get cookieless, aggregate counts of visits, which don’t identify you across visits.

To change your answer, clear this site’s cookies and storage in your browser; the banner will ask again.

Services we rely on

“Book a call” opens Calendly, which handles the booking under its own policy.

Analytics are processed by PostHog and Google, the site is hosted on Railway, and form submissions are delivered through Slack. Some of them process data in the United States.

Like any web server, ours keeps short-lived technical logs (IP address, browser, the page requested) to keep the site running and secure.

How long we keep it

Messages and form submissions stay for as long as the conversation or the work needs them. Newsletter addresses stay until you unsubscribe. Analytics data follows the retention of the tools above.

Your rights

You can ask us what we hold about you, to correct it, to delete it, or to stop using it — write to hello@habitat.cc and we’ll answer within 30 days. If you’re in the EU or the UK, you can also complain to your data protection authority.

Changes

When what the site does changes, this page changes with it, and the date at the top moves.
