About the Business

Huupe is a smart basketball hoop that automatically tracks shots, identifies players, and calculates scores in real time. It represents a new way of blending technology with sports, creating an innovative product designed for both performance tracking and entertainment.

The client approached us with a clear goal: to create a new website that would not only showcase Huupe but also maximize conversion rates. The website needed to clearly communicate the unique product vision while making the buying experience as engaging and simple as possible.

Project Tasks and Challenges

Positioning beyond a niche

Huupe merges sports and technology in a way that can feel niche. The challenge was to present it as exciting and accessible, appealing not just to tech enthusiasts but also to everyday players and families.

Dual target audience

The website needed to appeal to children as the primary users while addressing parents as the final decision-makers and buyers. This required design decisions that balanced playful, engaging visuals for kids with a clean, trustworthy, and conversion-focused experience for parents.

Conversion-driven design with simplified purchasing path

A key task was to make the buying process quick and effortless, reducing friction and ensuring that interested parents could easily complete the purchase.

Tight deadlines

The project needed to be delivered within just 4 weeks, covering more than 10 pages. This required precise prioritization and efficient collaboration to hit every milestone on time.

Mobile and desktop in parallel

We had to design both mobile and desktop versions simultaneously, ensuring that the experience remained seamless across formats despite the extensive content.

Key Project Goals

01.

Improve conversion rates by creating a quick and simple purchasing journey.

02.

Design an experience that engages children through dynamic visuals while maintaining clarity and trust for parents.

03.

Position Huupe as more than a niche product by highlighting its unique sports-tech blend and broad appeal.

04.

Deliver a production-ready Shopify site within just 4 weeks, supporting immediate sales growth.

Phase1:

Discovery

We began with a complete website audit and research to identify gaps in the user experience and sales funnel. This process revealed the key areas where we could elevate engagement and streamline purchasing.

Phase2:

Ideation

We mapped out block structures for pages, explored a wide variety of design concepts, and experimented with multiple layout variations. This allowed us to test different interaction flows and visual hierarchies before assembling the final prototypes.

Phase3:

Design

We explored a wide variety of design solutions - testing different layouts, interactions, and visual directions. This iterative approach allowed us to assemble complete prototypes that balanced richness and clarity. The final layouts were designed in Figma and elevated with high-quality photo and video content provided by the Huupe team.

Results

Improved conversions

Within just the first two weeks after launch, conversions increased by around 25% compared to the old site.

Successful scale-up

Two weeks after the release of the new website, Huupe raised $9M in funding. This served as a validation of both the product and its improved presentation.

Optimized UX

The redesigned pages made exploring and purchasing Huupe smoother across all devices, creating a richer but simpler user journey.

Flexible foundation

The new design provided a strong, scalable base that can grow with Huupe’s future ambitions.

Conclusion

We’re proud that our team transformed a complex, content-heavy site into a polished, conversion-focused Shopify experience in just 4 weeks. Along the way, we tackled the dual challenge of designing for children as primary users and parents as decision-makers. Moreover, our design helped in positioning Huupe as more than a niche sports-tech product - making it accessible and aspirational to wider audiences.

The project stands as a strong example of how thoughtful UX/UI design can drive both immediate results and long-term growth.
